Mission
The Wild Rose Old Tyme Fiddlers Association exists to encourage,
foster and develop an appreciation of Old Tyme Fiddle Music in a spirit of friendship,
and to preserve this musical heritage for our generation and for future generations to enjoy.
To fulfill its mission, the club will pursue the following objectives:
- To promote fiddle music in a friendly, socialable environment; and to oppose any attempt to disrupt the fraternity of Old Tyme Fiddle Music.
- To assist in the development of young and older amateur musicians by organizing and providing a venue for meetings, practice sessions and workshops.
- In general, to provide for the wholesale recreation of club members and their friends, and, in particular, to offer performance opportunities to beginners.
- To provide such equipment and furniture as the club may need to conduct its activities.
- To spread the sound of fiddle music throughout the community.
- To run the Grand North American Old Tyme Fiddle Championship yearly.
- To encourage new memberships and community involvement to support the continuous development of Old Tyme musicians.
- To encourage the membership to be well informed of the club operations; to take an active role in club activities and in the preparation of new leaders of the Association.
