OLD TIME FIDDLE CHAMPIONSHIP
(GNA)
The Grand North American Old-Time Fiddle Championship (GNA) has been held continuously since 1984, taking place annually on the third weekend in July. This family event is open to fiddlers of all levels and ages, and competitors have ranged in age from 6 years to 101 years of age. Many have gone on to become finalists or winners at the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Contest.
The Wild Rose Old Tyme Fiddlers Association, in collaboration with Alberta Society of Fiddlers and Prairie Mountain Fiddlers, co-hosted the Canadian Grand Masters Competition in Morinville Alberta in August 2016. The Canadian Grand Masters Champion that year was local fiddler Daniel Gervais.
The 40th Annual Grand North American Fiddle Championship was held at the Dow Centennial Centre in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta from Thursday July 18 to Sunday July 21, 2024.
