We promote old time fiddle music in a friendly, sociable environment as a source of recreation for club members and their friends through weekly gatherings at our local Edmonton leased hall sites. The jams also assist in the development of young and older amateur musicians by providing a safe performance opportunity.
Session Times: On Monday nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m. join us at Pleasantview Community Hall on 10860 57 Avenue for an acoustic jam circle.
For those that like to sing an play, unfortunately, the Open Mic on Thursday nights at North Glenora Community Hall is on hold until at least January, 2021 pending further AHS guidelines and directives from the North Glenora Community League.
When the Open Mic nights were happening, Musicians could choose to sit in the jam circle and take a turn starting a tune, just play along, or play accompaniment on instruments other than fiddle in the circle. Dancers were welcome, as well as guests who just like to come in and listen to old time music.
There is a small door fee each week for everyone who attends. Halls and facilities are wheelchair accessible.
We are all “volunteers” so everyone attending is encouraged to take a turn with setup, take down or other small chores that contribute to the smooth weekly operation of the jam.
Musicians new to our circle are welcome to try out our jams and are invited to sign up as a member if they decide to come in regularly to play.
