The Wild Rose Old Tyme Fiddlers Association also puts on the annual Grand North American Fiddle Championships: — a 4 day family event, happening on the 3rd weekend of July in Fort Saskatchwan — After many years in Radway, AB, we are moving the 2021, 38th edition of the competition to the Dow Centre in Fort Saskatchewan. Our host hotel is the Comfort Inn. The judged competition (one of the highest cash prize payouts in North America) happens all day Saturday and Sunday, with many classes ranging from Junior Junior through Senior and including an OPEN class for the most talented performers.Judges are world class fiddlers from across Canada. — They also perform a Judges Showcase on the Saturday evening — One of the highlights of the weekend is the Saturday night old-tyme family dance, with dancers coming from all over.
